In Lviv three militiamen from management on fight against human trafficking are arrested for extortion of bribes from prostitutes.
As reported in a press - SBU control center in the Lvov area, in Security service of Ukraine with the statement for systematic extortion of bribes by employees of special division of militia for not accountability for occupation by prostitution the group of women - residents of Lviv addressed.
As reported in a press - the center, the signature under the statement in SBU in which it was noted that employees of Management on fight against the crimes connected with human trafficking, General Directorate of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lvov area demand to pay monthly to them bribes, put six "women of easy virtue" who didn't sustain each time of big requisitions from guards.
"As some officials were involved in the scheme of extortion and receiving bribes - militiamen at once - the corresponding multistage operation was developed for its exposure and documenting, - told in USBU. - As a result of a complex of the held expeditious events, the staff of special forces "To" (on fight against corruption and organized crime) detained three employees of Management on fight against the crimes connected with human trafficking, (UBPSTL) GUMVD in the Lvov area". At present they are in custody in the Lvov pre-trial detention center. Materials on the this case are transferred to prosecutor's office of the Lvov area for further investigation, reported in a press - the SBU center.
As the deputy prosecutor of the Lvov area Oleg ULINETS told to the correspondent of the UNIAN, "the chief of one of sectors of UBPSTL and two operatives is arrested. Operatives were caught "red-handed" when receiving a bribe in a size of one and a half thousand US dollars and six thousand hryvnias. It was established that the chief of sector of all received over 300 thousand hryvnias". The deputy prosecutor thus noted: "Today we have no bases to detain the head of department. But the investigation is carried, the new facts and episodes on the this case" are established.
The deputy prosecutor of the Lvov area informed that on this fact criminal case is brought at once under two articles of the Criminal code of Ukraine: Art. 368 (receiving a bribe) which provides imprisonment for a period of 5 till 10 years, and Art. 364 (an abuse of power or official position), prescribes punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 5 to 12 years of imprisonment.
"It is during the investigation already established that the arrested militiamen were engaged in extortion of means from prostitutes, and it were monthly different sums - from 1500 to 4000 US dollars from one person, beginning since 2007! We conduct investigation and all new facts" are opened, - O. ULINETs informed.
The chief of investigative department of prosecutor's office of the Lvov area Alexander CHALY, making comments on the UNIAN of a detail of this business, I noted that "militiamen took money from prostitutes in the office offices, directly from an entrance in a zdanik of UBPSTL that on Archipenko Street, 1 - practically in the center of Lviv, and also in salons of own cars. Victims in the indications also noted that militiamen forced to provide sexual services to them and to their friends, arranging so-called "community work days".
"The head of department on fight against the crimes connected with human trafficking, Roman SKIRA right after detention of three employees left on pension. He yet isn't a suspect and not accused", - O. CHALY reported.
In Management office on fight against the crimes connected with human trafficking, the correspondent of the UNIAN was told that "Roman Vladimirovich SKIRA retired. The new chief isn't appointed yet, there is no acting as also. With all questions - to the deputy head of department Lyubomir SHCHUTYAK, but he is in business trip in Kiev till next week".
In department of public relations of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lvov area refused comments on the this case.
At the same time, the head of department of public relations of General Directorate of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lvov area Denis HARCHUK categorically denied information on detention of three employees of the management, provided to agency in prosecutor's office and SBU.
"Only one operative of Management on fight against human trafficking is detained. Materials in prosecutor's office", - were declared by him in the UNIAN comment, having refused the subsequent explanations.
