Yesterday, on November 17, the General prosecutor of Ukraine Alexander Medvedko with the assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko held coordination meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine during which the question concerning strengthening of counteraction to thefts, robberies and robberies was considered. About it reports a press - service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
It should be noted that the prosecutor of the Nikolaev area Nikolay Stoyanov and the chief of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area militia colonel Vladimir Uvarov took part in this meeting.
As it was noted at meeting, as of October 1 number of the registered messages on crimes which are committed remained practically at the level of last year (+0,6%). Rise in crime for nine percent (+9,4%) happened due to the thefts which quantity increased by forty one thousand (41480 or for 46,8%). From them - the overwhelming quantity became result of criminalization of acts which else in the first half of the year were qualified as an administrative offense.
Number of thefts especially grew in Chernigov (+118%), Kirovograd (+111%), Hmelnitsky, Cherkassk (+84%), Zhitomir, Nikolaev (+70%).
During meeting it was noted that law-enforcement bodies in due time didn't strengthen the capacity of operational divisions - as a result, solvability of crimes (76,1% - 2008 worsened also; 73,2% - 2009). There were unsolved nearly 52 thousand thefts, four thousand robberies and more than 700 assaults.
As the chief of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area V. Uvarov explained, the economic crisis has an effect and the people inclined to commission of crimes went outside. Vladimir Uvarov assured that any committed crime doesn't remain unnoticed. All statements of citizens which arrive to the Nikolaev militiamen are registered and on everyone investigation is made.
