GPU: Amnesty guilty of house explosion in Dnepropetrovsk - is lawful

The Prosecutor General's Office considers lawful decision on diversion concerning three former heads of JSC Dneprogaz accused of office negligence, entailed gas explosion in a house of Dnepropetrovsk in the fall of 2007.

"This decision is analysed by us and recognized lawful", - the deputy public prosecutor Victor Kudryavtsev on a press - conferences on Friday in Kiev told, reports "Interfax - Ukraine".

It explained that during consideration of the case in court the Ukrainian parliament adopted the law on amnesty which provides possibility of amnesty accused in the presence of softening circumstances.

At the same time, according to the deputy public prosecutor if there are new circumstances which will confirm commission by these persons of crimes under other articles, new charges will be brought to them.

It is known that on October 13, 2007 in Dnepropetrovsk in a 10-floor house down the street Mandrykovskoy, 127, occurred explosion of natural gas as a result of which 23 persons were lost, including 7 children, and also were damaged located near the building and a construction.

On a dock there were three representatives of "Dneprogaz" - the director general, his first deputy and the chief engineer of the company, - they were accused of office negligence.

On January 20, 2008 the Zhovtnevy district court of the city of Dnepropetrovsk made the decision and satisfied the petition accused on business on Mandrykovskaya about application of a provision of the law to them about amnesty. On its basis criminal case concerning 3 representatives of "Dneprogaz" is stopped. They are exempted from punishment.

Victims of the house explosion, lost as a result of the tragedy of relatives, intend to submit the claim to the European Court of Human Rights from - for such decision.
