The Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the agreement on preservation of bats to Europe.
239 deputies voted for adoption of the relevant bill 0109 at necessary 226.
The relevant amendments were approved by the agreement parties in July, 2000.
Amendments provide specification of species of the wing-handed animals widespread in the European countries which are subject to protection.
This agreement establishes protection over all 45 species of the bats widespread in Europe.
The agreement provides that each of the parties has to forbid deliberate production, catching or murder of wing-handed animals without the permission on that of responsible (competent) body.
In the document the unsatisfactory condition of protection of these animals also is emphasized.
Ukraine joined the agreement in 1999.
