Ukrainians in crisis began to give less than bribes

Results of survey testify to it "education problems against upcoming elections", conducted by Institute of social and political psychology of Academy of pedagogical sciences of Ukraine.

According to poll data, 46,6% of respondents told that in 2009 they should bribe. At the same time in 2008 about bribery reported 53,4% of respondents.

"Thus we can't tell in this connection such decrease is caused: with unwillingness to bribe, or it turned out to be consequence of an economic crisis to the country", - the deputy director for scientific work of Institute of social and political psychology of NPA of Ukraine told.

Among various categories of workers which in the current year should bribe, most often respondents called doctors (27,8%), the staff of GAI (13,6%) and teachers (12,4%).

To the staff of public authorities within a year 5,4% of respondents bribed, to police officers - 4,6%, to employees ЖЭКов - 4,5%, to tax specialists - 2,5%, to judges and customs officers - on 1,5%, firemen - 1,4%.

Research is conducted on October 5-12, 2009 in all areas of Ukraine, ARC and Kiev. In total 2000 respondents in 238 settlements, from which 101 - city and 137 - rural were interrogated. Selection error - 2,2%.
