The EU commissioner for power Andris Pibalgs regrets that Russia apprehended EU and Ukraine declaration following the results of gas conference as directed against it.
The EU commissioner declared it today to journalists.
"I regret for it because at us isn't present even in thoughts of intention to weaken "Gazprom" positions in the European Union. I heard, of course, this statement that Russia can look for other markets, but the European market - the best for the Russian gas", - he told.
"I hope that this disappointment will pass", - the commissioner added.
А.Пибалги declared that tried to explain to the Russian side that work of European Commission is aimed at providing stability of a gas transmission corridor. He also added that the European Commission will continue cooperation with Russia "as - that to smooth this chagrin".
Thus it expressed conviction that in the declaration very correct things about need of investment in the Ukrainian gas transmission system, and also that the European companies can take part in such investment projects on an equal and market basis are written down.
As it was already reported, the Russian delegation which was present at the international investment conference on questions of modernization of the Ukrainian GTS, left a forum after the announcement of a ceremony of signing of the total joint declaration.
