Production of the food industry (in 2008) occupies with 4,3 billion UAH the greatest share in the all-regional volume of the realized industrial output - 29%.
11 600 people work at the enterprises of the food industry (17,1% of number of the permanent members of staff occupied in the industry). Last year the cost of fixed assets of area made 2,9 billion UAH, or 11,3% of fixed assets of the industry, the volume of investment - a third of all capital investments in the industry.Among industrial kinds of activity this branch is the most attractive to foreign investors - about 70% of all volume of the foreign capital in the industry with concentration at the enterprises of the food industry.
