The metropolitan of the Ukrainian orthodox church of the Moscow patriarchy Vladimir asks the mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky to stop use of the image of the archangel Mikhail on slot machines.
About it it is spoken in the letter of the metropolitan to the mayor.
"On behalf of orthodox inhabitants of Kiev and parents of children and the teenagers dependent on gamblings, I ask you... to take measures for the termination of blasphemous use of the image on them sacred архистратига Mikhail", - it is told in the letter.
According to the metropolitan, use of sacred images on slot machines and other subjects which aren't subjects of religious honoring, is blasphemy in relation to a shrine.
The metropolitan reminded that such actions offend religious feelings of believers and cause God's just anger.
He reasoned the address to the mayor the become frequent addresses of the believers concerned by emergence in Kiev of slot machines with the image of Mikhail.
As it was reported, Chernovetsky denies the participation in installation in Kiev of slot machines with an inscription "The charitable prize "Capital".
Earlier the vice-chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Nikolay Tomenko asked temporary commission of inquiry of Rada on investigation of violations of the Constitution and laws officials of Kiyevsovet and Kiev municipal administration to investigate actions of the authorities on installation in Kiev of slot machines with symbolics of the city and an inscription "The charitable prize "Capital".
Machine guns are installed in subways and on approaches to metro stations.
