The meeting of the management of the Nikolaev Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the management of the state enterprise "The Delta — the Pilot" was devoted to discussion of prospects of development of transport branch of Nikolaev.

Development of the Nikolaev ports, as well as Dneprobugsky transport knot as a whole, demands transition to service of vessels like "панамакс" with a displacement of 70 thousand tons. Today's depth of BDLK - 11 m, the declared checkpoint of a deposit - 10,3 m. Thanks to professionalism of pilots vessels with an osadka of 10,7-10,8 m are actually carried out. It conducts to that the Nikolaev ports and terminals process vessels like "хендимакс", and "панамаксы", getting the increasing value, banks near Ochakovo are loaded in addition on Trutayeva's raid.

Sergey Vlasenko, the president of the Nikolaev Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reminded that the prospect of development of Nikolaev as sea transport knot, has to be considered in the Master idea of a development of the city which will be nourished on the statement to city council. Meanwhile still discussions about opportunity and need of deepening of the existing Bugo - Dneprovsko - the limansky channel proceed.

BDLK deepening to 12 m won't change a situation, Alexander Golodnitsky, the director of GP "The Delta — the Pilot" stated the position. It is necessary or channel deepening to 14 m, or creation of ustyevy port, for example, near Ochakovo, and work of the Nikolaev ports in a tandem with it. Thus, Alexander Golodnitsky noted that similar dredging works will demand investments of 4 billion UAH.

"Deepening of BDDLK becomes the project which was more difficult and expensive, than creation of GSH "Danube — the Black Sea". At present rates of channel collecting, on it many years of work will leave, and the increase in rates will worsen competitiveness of the Nikolaev ports and terminals", - Alexander Golodnitsky considers.
