The former head of Security service of Ukraine Igor Smeshko considers that in Ukraine there is no effective control over activity of intelligence services.
He told about it on air of ICTV.
"I would tell a lie if told that we have an effective monitoring system over activity of intelligence services", - Smeshko declared.
"The declared control which is in articles from the Verkhovna Rada and even the president - it declared because depth and parameters of this control" there aren't registered, - considers it.
Making comments on information on possible listening of phones of politicians, the former head of SBU told: "If there are data on the possible wiretap, and the People's Deputy addresses about it, and even the profile committee will be engaged in it, all that it will be able - to send the letter to SBU and to wait for the answer about it".
It is known that earlier deputies of BYuT sent to all appellate courts of the country, and also to the head of the Supreme Court, the general prosecutor and regional prosecutors lists of the highest officials, which phones can listen.
