Tymoshenko promised to Europe the transparent gas market

Ukraine in front of Europe undertook to create the transparent gas market.

About it it is spoken in the joint declaration of Ukraine and EU following the results of the International investment conference on modernization of the Ukrainian gas transmission system signed in Brussels.

From the Ukrainian party the declaration was signed by the prime minister Yulia Timoshenko, from European Commission - EU commissioners for the external relations and the European policy of the neighbourhood Benita Ferrero - Valdner and concerning power Andris Pibalgs.

Besides, the declaration was signed by presidents of the European investment bank, the European bank of reconstruction and development and the World bank, reports UNIAN.

According to the declaration text, the Ukrainian government assumed the obligation to provide independence of the operator on gas transit, in particular, by implementation of the directive of EU of 2003 about the general rules of domestic market of natural gas.

Also the government took the obligation to provide transparency and openness for investors on modernization of the gas transmission system and to provide equal access to the relevant financial and technical information, and also to provide control over received on modernization of the gas transmission system by means.

The government of Ukraine promised to give the chance to operators to act on transit of gas on the commercial basis for the performance business - the plan in long-term prospect.

Ukraine also undertook to provide access of the third parties to underground gas storages on transparent commercial conditions.

Thus Ukraine has to finish reforming of gas sector until the end of 2011 that will be also reflected in the agreement on association between Ukraine and EU, and also in the Agreement on accession of Ukraine to power community.
