The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Litvin considers that the main applicants for a position of the President are interested on October 25, 2009 in carrying out the next presidential election. He declared it during visit to the Poltava Region, reports a press - service of the speaker.
"They perfectly understand that the rating will fall, and it needs to be recorded: because in October yet there will be no problems how to conclude agreements on gas and while people still will be kind", - V. Litvin noticed. For this reason, according to the chairman of BP, the main applicants for a position of the head of state want to hold elections till this time.
V. Litvin also hoped that in a question of definition of date of presidential election the Constitutional court of Ukraine will clear up. On his belief, elections of the head of state would have to take place on January 17, 2010 V. Litvin explained that according to the Constitution, the next presidential elections are held last Sunday of the last month of the fifth year of powers of the President of Ukraine. Such date, according to the chairman of BP, the called number also is, "but part of deputies who were initiators of adoption of the resolution on elections on October 25, gave the justification, being guided by the previous standards of the Constitution".
