President of UkraineVictor YushchenkoI held a meeting with the General prosecutor of UkraineAlexander Medvedko.The meeting took place at the Borispol airport before official visit of the Head of state inHungarian Republic,reports a press - service of the President.
In particular,PresidentI checked a condition of performance of the assignment connected with observance of the current legislation at ensuring the housing rights of inhabitantshostels. At the end of last year addressed to the Head of state about 100 addresses of inhabitants of hostels (Kiev, Kherson,arrivedNikolaev, Odessa areas) about violation of their rights for housing (illegal privatization, closing and a reshaping of hostels, establishment of unreasonably overestimated tariffs for accommodation at them, etc.) that caused his concern about it.
Also during a meeting it was a question of a condition of implementation of public prosecutor's supervision of use of budgetary funds at elimination of consequences of a flood in July, 2008 in the territory of separate areas of the western Ukraine. The president charged to the General prosecutor for 20-30 daysto submit the public the reportabout the carried-out work on this question.
Besides, the Head of state and the General prosecutor discussed a condition of observance of the rights and freedoms of citizens in establishments of State department of execution of punishments of Ukraine.Victor YushchenkoI expressed concern about estimates of the international human rights institutions about observance of the rights condemned in Ukraine, and also appeals of citizens to the Ukrainian and international human rights organizationson the facts of beating and other violations of the rights condemned. The president of Ukraine gave concrete examples of penal institutions where there were violations, and charged for 20 daysto carry out the corresponding inspectionsworks of employees of these institutions.
