Yushchenko declared in interview to the Portuguese mass media that negotiations on signing of the Road map and settlement of social protection of citizens of Ukraine living and working in Portugal became a main goal of its visit.
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko I gave interview to the Portuguese TV channel SIC Noticias and the Publico newspaper.
Also the President declared possibility of introduction of social guarantees for Ukrainian заробитчан. Among them possibility of protection of the seniority in Portugal for pension in Ukraine, and also protection of interests of the Ukrainians living in Portugal.
Speaking about the visit to Portugal the President noted that is planned to sign a number of important bilateral documents, among which - the Road map Ukrainian - the Portuguese relations for 2008-2010 which "will define key tasks in economic, trade, humanitarian and social" cooperation spheres.
"We didn't have such concrete document, and tomorrow it will be signed", - Yushchenko told.
"We are interested in cooperation with Portugal in spheres of transport, power, construction", - he added.
Speaking about an invariance of the euroatlantic course of Ukraine, the President declared: "We conduct policy which meets priorities, the purposes and fundamentals of policy of North Atlantic Alliance".
Yushchenko also expressed confidence that membership of Ukraine in NATO
most of all is equitable to national interests of the state and anyway isn't "policy against someone".
