Russia made the decision not to allocate to Ukraine 5 billion dollars of the credit. The deputy minister of finance of the Russian Federation reported about ittoday in interview to Reuters agencyDmitry Pankin.
"They addressed, and the decision on granting the credit wasn't made … We analysed a situation, and we said no", - D. Pankin declared.
At the same time he noted that Russia yet didn't make the decision on allocation of the credit of Iceland which asked for the help in the fall of last year.
It is known that the prime minister - the minister of UkraineYulia Timoshenkoofficially I addressed to Russia concerning the credit of 5 billion dollars. Acting as Minister of Finance of UkraineIgor UmanskyI noted that the Russian credit of 5 bln. dollars - in case of signing of the relevant agreement between Ukraine and Russia - it was planned to direct on payment for natural gas which the NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy buys from "Gazprom".
A number of the Ukrainian experts noted that the high interest rate for the possible Russian credit will lead to increase in cost of service of an external debt of Ukraine.
