This week, on July 14-15, in the Ministry of environmental protection of Ukraine the public consultations concerning an assessment of influence of the project on creation of the channel of the Danube River - the Black Sea on environment took place. Carrying out public consultations is provided by procedure of performance of conditions of the Convention of Espoo.
Consultations were held in the question-answer format, reports the transport and communication Ministry.
From Ukraine representatives took part in consultations the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources, and also scientific experts in the field of environmental monitoring and authors of the project. Romania employees represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ecologists and hydraulic engineering.
Previously the Assessment of probable cross-border influences on project environment "Creations of GSH of the Danube River - the Black Sea on the Ukrainian site of the delta was provided to the Romanian party for studying. Full development".
In the final protocol of consultations it is provided that the Romanian party to 3-го has to provide August, 2009 the specified list of questions which can arise concerning the channel project. These questions the Ukrainian party has to consider at acceptance of the final decision concerning implementation of the project "Creation of GSH of the Danube River - the Black Sea on the Ukrainian site of the delta. Full development".
Both parties agreed that further steps to implementation of the project have to pass on condition of mutual cooperation and observance in full the procedures provided by the Convention.
