The antimonopoly committee initiated proceedings upon the coordinated anti-competitive actions in the form of unreasonable rise in prices for sugar in domestic market.
The acting as the chairman of AMKU Alexander Melnichenko told about it at a briefing.
"The decision on initiation of proceedings upon groundless rise in prices for sugar on all greatest wholesale dealers in sugar is made", - he told.
Melnichenko noted that for stabilization of the prices the assignment to regional offices of AMKU was given to submit recommendations within one-day term to wholesale dealers and retail offtakers of sugar, in particular, to distribution networks, on reduction of prices of sugar to economically reasonable level.
He emphasized that in case of non-performance by operators of the market of these requirements till August 26, to them rigid sanctions of the competitive legislation will be applied.
In case of the committee failure to meet requirements, each of such subjects of managing can be fined the sum up to 10% of an annual turnover of the company.
Melnichenko didn't report, what level of sugar price considers committee economically reasonable, having noted that the prices of this production in different regions of Ukraine differ.
Besides, the acting as head of AMKU reported that missives were sent them to the regional state administrations with a request that in regions the special working groups for taking measures to competition development in the market of sugar and development of strategy of activity of local authorities in this market were created.
As it was reported, the Prime minister - the minister Yulia Timoshenko considers that the price of 4-4,5 UAH for kilogram of sugar is objective.
The cabinet declares lack of the objective reasons for a rise in prices for sugar.
