Tymoshenko: Putin promises not to apply "shock therapy"

The prime minister Yulia Timoshenko declares that during a meeting with the prime minister of Russia Vladimir Putin on Saturday the agreement on gradual transition to the European gas prices for Ukraine for 3-4 years was reached.

She told about it on air of the 1+1 channel on Sunday.

"We agreed, and, by the way, Putin declared it on a press - conferences that from a shock raising of the prices we pass to gradual rise in prices for several years", - marked out Tymoshenko.

"I want to emphasize that Vladimir Putin told that there will be a gradual rise in prices for several years. Also it is a question that the shock therapy just because such negotiations took place yesterday, for Ukraine in the end of the year won't be", - the prime minister emphasized.

"I think that gradually the prices will raise to European for 3-4 years", - specified Tymoshenko.

At the same time she couldn't call approximate gas price for Ukraine since January 1, 2009.

"We agreed that till September 15, holding parallel negotiations on the general concept with the Central Asian countries, we will come for signing of the strategic agreement on long-term prospect", - the prime minister told also.

We will remind that on Saturday after a meeting with Tymoshenko Putin declared that is the adherent of gradual transition to the European gas prices for Ukraine, however the condition about fast transition to such prices is laid down by the tsenralnoaziatsky countries.
