"On October 23, 2009 at 15.00 at the building of management of SBU in the Nikolaev area (on crossing of streets of Spasskaya and Decembrists) protest meeting against illegal actions of employees of SBU concerning broadcasting company NORM will take place.

On October 8, 2009 in service premises of Broadcasting Company NORMA the unauthorized search was carried out by employees of SBU. In a consequence the nekonstutsionnykh of actions the equipment was damaged and TV company work is blocked. Systematic destruction of provider television and the Internet - services proceeds.

In actions of employees of SBU signs of corruption and pressure upon mass media as these actions don't keep within one standard of the Criminal Procedure Code regulating an order of similar actions are visible.

Systematic movement of Ukraine towards restriction of a freedom of speech is seen and in actions of the high-ranking government officials and in acts of regional authorities. Mass media already receives "temnik" and places "custom-made" plots and articles.

Yesterday mass media bribed, today already try to break force. What will be tomorrow? Whether there will be a place to journalism as professions in Ukraine? Whom will close tomorrow under any pretext?

Journalists, show the solidarity with colleagues. We urge you to fulfill the professional duty. Tell in the mass media that occurs and as events are developed.

Come to meeting, receive information firsthand.

If we keep silent today, tomorrow to us won't grant the right of the word!

Meeting is organized by the People's Deputy of Ukraine, the journalist Gennady Zadyrko, journalists of Broadcasting Company NORMA, activists from among workers of the Nikolaev mass media".

Address to mass media of the People's Deputy of Ukraine

Gennadiya Zadyrko
