So the politician commented on reproaches of the chief of GRU of the General Staff of armed forces of the Russian Federation, the general - the lieutenant Alexander SHLYAKHTUROV about sale by Ukraine of the weapon of Georgia, reports a press - UNP Nikolaev regional organization service.
"Russia to which image of the country - the violator of international law on traffic in arms was assigned long ago, has no moral right to accuse any state of opacity of "weapon" deliveries", - Kostenko notes. It reminded that "on November 2 in the UN of the Russian Federation once again showed the disinterest in the international control of traffic in arms, having refrained from vote for the resolution on graphics of development of the corresponding international treaty".
According to Kostenko, "Russia, accusing Ukraine of sale of the offensive weapon, shows double standards". According to him, "the Russian Federation now claims that the Ukrainian sold to Georgia is antiaircraft - the missile systems "Beech — M1" and stations of radio engineering investigation "Chain armor" are the offensive weapon". At the same time, "in 2006 Russians assured that is antiaircraft - the missile systems "Top — M1" which they tried to sell to Iran in defiance of UN Security Council sanctions, treat only defensive arms", - the leader of UNP emphasized.
