The president of Ukraine Victor YUSHCHENKO made the decision to apply the veto on the law on the moratorium on rise in prices and tariffs for medicines and products of medical appointment.
He reported about it during a meeting with representatives of pharmaceutical branch, informed the UNIAN in a press - service of the head of state.
"Being guided by social, economic motives of the organization of national production, I make the decision on imposing of the veto on this law", - the President told. He noted that the law actually kills the national producer and dream that this unique knowledge-intensive branch can enter the European and world markets as has necessary capacities and development.
V. Yushchenko urged representatives of branch to help to explain to society that the law not only would do much harm to interests of the national producer, but also would create deficiency of medicines for simple citizens.
The head of state referred to the current law about the prices and pricing on the basis of which the government establishes the list and regulates the prices of most socially important medicines. Now in such list of 217 positions and in case of need it can be expanded. "We have a regulation which gives the social answer", - the President told.
As reported the UNIAN, on October 20 of this year. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "About the Moratorium on Rise in Prices and Tariffs for Medicines and Products of Medical Appointment".
By the law it is provided for financial crisis to establish the moratorium on rise in prices on all types of drugs and medicines of domestic and foreign production before establishment of the size of a minimum wage and pensions at the level of a living wage and before repayment of debt on payment of salaries, grants and cash security of students, cadets and pupils.
Also by the law it is provided that medicines of a domestic production are realized at the prices regulated by the state, medicines of foreign production - at the prices which have developed as of July 1, 2008.
