"I would like to report that after extremely difficult, laborious work, after difficult and intense negotiations at present, actually, there is a release of 24 Ukrainian seamen from the ship "Ariana" which was seized by pirates on May 2 the current year", - the President told.
And the Ukrainian citizens the shipowner paid repayment for release of "Ariana" of 2,8 million dale.
As the correspondent of the UNIAN reports, the chairman of Service of foreign intelligence Nikolay MALOMUZH reported about it today at a briefing in the Secretariat of the President.
He noted that at the final stage of negotiations thanks to opportunities of SVR which in interaction with partner intelligence services rendered to the shipowner of assistance in the solution of a wide range of the questions, the coordinated sum of repayment - 2,8 million dale. - it was delivered to a vessel by an air way.
He specified that the bale with money was dumped from the plane to the high sea near "Ariana", and pirates took away it on the boat and at once started counting money.
N. Malomuzh also reminded that at first pirates demanded repayments in the sum of 10 million a dale, 6 million dale. In turn the shipowner offered at first 850 thousand dale. further - 1,6 million dale. and as a result during negotiations coordinated the sum of 2,8 million dale.
Specifying information on a state of health of the released seamen, N. Malomuzh noticed that "there were complications, a situation difficult, all have these or those stages of diseases". "But critical situations aren't present", - he assured.
N. Malomuzh also reported that the state of health of the woman - the crew member, the cook, causing the greatest concern, for the last weeks improved thanks to the drugs passed aboard a vessel by means of the Spanish partners.
As reported the UNIAN, the Ariana bulk ship was captured on May 2. In hostages pirates had 24 seamen from Ukraine, including the woman who on 5 - m month of pregnancy lost the child.
