The president Victor Yushchenko doesn't intend to bring the candidate of the head of National bank of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada.
About it on a press - conferences were reported by the first deputy head of the secretariat of president Alexander Shlapak, report "The Ukrainian news".
He explained that the president held consultations with representatives of fractions and came to a conclusion that the Verkhovna Rada can dismiss the present head of NBU Vladimir Stelmakh, but won't find quantity of voices for the statement of the candidate of the new head of National Bank.
According to Shlapak, Yushchenko intends to continue consultations with fractions and after he will be convinced that the nomination brought by it will be supported by parliament, it will take such step.
Shlapak didn't specify, whether considers Yushchenko repeated introduction on the approval by the Verkhovna Rada of the candidate of Stelmakh or intends to bring other candidate.
He emphasized that the head of NBU personally bears responsibility for National Bank activity, exchange rates, inflation and a condition of a banking system.
It is known that on December 16 I expired 5 - the summer term of stay of Stelmakh at a position of the head of National Bank.
The head of group of advisers to head of NBU Valery Litvitsky declared that Stelmakh isn't going to file a resignation and will continue to fulfill the duties fully.
Besides, on December 18 the Verkhovna Rada refused to support inquiry of the deputy from "WELL - NANOSECOND" Yury Karmazin to the leaders of the state and the State Office of Public Prosecutor with a request to initiate change of the head of National Bank.
Dismissal of head of NBU under the law requires the decision of the president.
