The Verkhovna Rada refused to delay introduction in action of a package of anti-corruption laws from January 1, 2010 to January 1, 2011.
208 deputies voted for adoption of the bill 5398 (on replacement) "About modification of some laws of Ukraine about prevention and corruption counteraction" at 226 minimum necessary.
Before it the author of the bill, the deputy from "Our Ukraine — National Self-defense" Block fraction Oleg Novikov made the report.
He reported that the introduction delay in action of the laws "About the Principles of Prevention and Corruption Counteraction", "About Responsibility of Legal Entities for Commission of Corruption Offences" and "About Modification of Some Acts of Ukraine concerning Responsibility for Corruption Offences" adopted on June 11, is necessary for elimination of shortcomings and legislation improvement in the sphere of prevention and corruption counteraction.
As it was reported, the Ministry of Justice considers inadmissible a delay of coming into effect of a package of anti-corruption laws from - for high level of corruption in the country.
The Supreme Court asked the Constitutional Court to check constitutionality of a number of provisions of a package from three anti-corruption laws, entering force since January 1, 2010.
On June 11 Rada defined bases of prevention and corruption counteraction, having adopted bills 0875 "About modification of some acts for responsibility for corruption offenses", 0876 "About the principles of prevention and corruption counteraction" and 0877 "About responsibility of legal entities for commission of corruption offenses".
