Russia has no candidates on upcoming elections in presidents of Ukraine, the president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev declares.
He told about it on the air of the Results of Year with Dmitry Medvedev program, reports Regional committee with reference to the UNIAN.
In particular, answering a question who is the Russian candidate on elections in Ukraine, Medvedev told:
"It, likely, Victor Andreevich Yushchenko if to recognize that the greatest number of the performances on the Ukrainian subject at me were connected with actions of the present president".
"If to speak seriously, at Russia isn't present, and there can't be there candidates. Ukraine is an independent sovereign state where the president will be defined by the people", - he added.
"I am sure that it is capable to understand both political declarations and during difficult political struggle which there goes - there nearly two tens candidates", - Medvedev noted.
It assured that Russia will accept any choice of the Ukrainian people.
Medvedev emphasized that would like that future president of Ukraine would be adjusted on development "kind, warm and brotherly" the relations with Russia.
"That Russian didn't offend that allowed to develop to bilateral contacts that our joint economic projects developed that there was no strange desire to enter any foreign military block which will irritate anyway a huge number of people", - he told.
"I would like that there was such partnership, I very much hope that Ukrainians will make a right choice", - he emphasized.
