In the first half of the year 2008 the sea trade ports of Ukraine increased cargo handling volume to 67 003,8 thousand tons that makes 8,4% in comparison with the corresponding period of last year. The deputy minister of transport and communication of Ukraine, the director of the department of sea and river transport Vladimir Rabotnev reported about it on a press - a briefing.
Rabotnev noted that the volume of processing of export freights increased by 5,4%, transit freights - for 2,3%. Thus, the volume of processing of export freights made 29 212,5 thousand tons, transit freights - 27 399,9 thousand tons. Conducting on processing volumes, according to the deputy minister, are the Odessa port - 17 875,2 thousand tons, Youzhny - 11 149,6 thousand tons, Ilyichevsky - 9 446,7 thousand tons and Mariupol - 7 802,4 thousand tons.
"Their contribution to the total amount of processing in the I half-year 2008 made 69%", - V. Rabotnev noted, having added that for 174% increased growth rates of total amount of cargo handling in comparison with the I half-year of last year Evpatoriysky port, by 145% - Oktyabrsk port, almost for 144% - the Nikolaev port, for 127% - Reniysky port, for 124% - Berdyansk, and almost for 166% - the port Ust - Dunaysk.
"In the I half-year 2008 of the enterprise of branch of sea and river transport increased the sum of the income to 3 307,67 million UAH that makes more than 24% in comparison with the corresponding period of last year", - V. Rabotnev noted. The net profit of the enterprises of branch, according to him, in the I half-year 2008 made 314,48 million UAH that is 23,4% more, than in the I half-year 2007, thus seaports got profits of 289,7 million UAH
