Ukraine in 2008 exports over 15 million tons of grain. It was declared today to journalists by the president of the Ukrainian agrarian confederation Leonid Kozachenko, the correspondent of RBC - Ukraine reports. At the same time he noted that cancellation of a ban on export grain only in May of this year led to significant increase in negative trade balance of the country which for the I half-year 2008 made 15 billion dollars. In his opinion if the ban on export was abolished earlier, level of negative balance would make 7 billion dollars
L.Kozachenko also noted that exporters of agricultural production disturbs as the further export policy of the government in agriculture branch, in particular, concerning export of milk, meat and sugar will be under construction. According to him, it is difficult to predict government actions in this question, and generally in export policy the government pursues the tactical aim - to reduce price level in domestic market. In L.Kozachenko's this context I declared that the agricultural enterprises shouldn't carry out social function, and the government has to support the national producer.
