The Verkhovna Rada allowed to privatize the housing to the citizens living on the lawful bases a long time in hostels for lonely citizens or families.
Such decision made in the second reading and as a whole the bill No. 2009 On ensuring realization of the housing rights of inhabitants of hostels - pro voted 359 at 226 necessary deputies.
Thus Rada established that all hostels on which action of this law extends, are subject to transfer to property to territorial communities within three years.
Under the new law citizens on whom action of the statutory act extends and which live in the hostels which are objects of the right of the state or municipal ownership, have the right for privatization of occupied housing in the form of the certain room (several rooms, housing blocks, sections).
Thus citizens who lives in the hostels which are property of the enterprises, the organizations created in the course of privatization, acquire the right for privatization of occupied premises after transfer of such hostels to municipal property under a condition if they actually live in such hostels legally and not less than 5 years.
At the same time the law doesn't extend on citizens who live in hostels temporarily, in connection with training, retraining, in connection with work or service on the contract.
