About it reported in a press - service of Socialist party with reference to the secretary of political council of SPU Yaroslav Mendusya.
"Now I can tell that we addressed to KPU with the letter on creation of "The left block"", - told Mendus, having noted: "By the way, we took such initiative and in 1998 - m, and in 2002. We wait for the answer".
According to him, "some hotheads in PR and BYuT play with plans about increase of an electoral threshold to 8-10%". However, he, "in policy noted simple decisions not always guarantee of their success. The parliament created with such electoral threshold will reflect moods of overwhelming minority of the population, so, from the first day will be doomed".
On belief of Mendusya, "return to in proportion - majority system would become an essential step back in political development of the country. The proportional electoral system according to "open" lists is more requested in society. It was offered for a long time by socialists".
Thus Mendus stated confidence that if SPU will go to elections independently, "Alexander Aleksandrovich (the leader of SPU Alexander Moroz - an edition) will head the party list on the following elections".
