The Russian Federation reported about intention to prolong a ban on duty-free import of the Ukrainian sugar till 2013, the Businessman - Ukraine" reports "with reference to the deputy minister of an agrarian policy of Ukraine Ivan Demchak. According to him, negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian working groups on questions of functioning of the market of sugar the other day came to the end.

According to the message, the Russian side insists on extension of a ban on duty-free import of sugar from Ukraine till January 1, 2013 - according to earlier concluded arrangements, it has to be cancelled on January 1, 2009. "We don't agree with terms of extension of a ban and we ask in case all of them - are accepted, to allocate a quota of 300 thousand tons for sugar import from Ukraine", - told g - N Demchak. The final decision will be on this matter made at a meeting of heads of governments of the countries in October.
