The bill of Ukraine "About modification of some laws of Ukraine (Concerning the name of electoral blocs) was submitted today on registration to parliament by People's Deputies of Ukraine from the Ukrainian people's party Ivan Zayets and Yaroslav Dzhodzhik. The bill offers to forbid use in names of blocks of political parties of surnames, names and initials of historical figures and other persons.
"Existence of nominal blocks, especially during elections in local governments, misleads voters who, voting for the popular personality, at the same time vote for candidates who don't incur political obligations to voters and aren't connected by the general ideology", - is spoken in an explanatory note.
Noting world experience, authors of the document emphasize that "nominal political forces - the phenomenon inherent in the Asian countries which are inclined to totalitarianism".
In an explanatory note it is emphasized that in many developed countries there are restrictions on use in names of political forces of names, surnames and other names, as such which don't answer political tradition.
"The bill of Ukraine "On modification of some laws of Ukraine (Concerning the name of electoral blocs)" is developed for ensuring structurization of party system, decrease in level of political corruption, formation of subjects of electoral process as carriers of ideologies, elimination of design approach to an electoral system, deepening of democratic traditions", - is spoken in the message.
