Ukraine and Poland kept the right for the organization and holding the European Football Championship of 2012.
The decision on it was made on Friday, September 26, at special meeting of the UEFA executive committee in Bordeaux.
Thus obliged Ukraine and Poland to accelerate UEFA rates of preparation for Euro-2012.
Ukraine and Poland acquired the right for holding the European championship in March, 2007. Italy and (in common) Croatia also applied for the organization of Euro-2012 with Hungary.
In March and July, 2008 the president of UEFA Michel Platini made two inspection trips to Ukraine and to Poland. Following the results of each of Platini's visits I warned organizers of tournament that they can be deprived of the right for carrying out Euro-2012 if preparation isn't conducted more intensively.
Heads of Federation of soccer of Ukraine and Association of soccer of Poland repeatedly declared that these countries will cope with the arisen difficulties and will finish preparation for the European championship in established periods.
