The party leader of regions Victor Yanukovych considers that a today's lease term of the Ukrainian bases can be changed by the Black Sea fleet of the Russian Federation towards increase in payment.
Yanukovych declared it yesterday on a press - conferences in Simferopol, making comments at the request of journalists of the statement of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov concerning destiny of the Black Sea fleet after 2017.
"I can tell that a lease term of the Black Sea fleet, what now are, it is necessary to change considerably towards increase. These prices (the sum which the BSF of the Russian Federation pays for rent of the Ukrainian bases) already aren't present, they consigned to the past", - Yanukovych noted.
The party leader of regions also emphasized that such changes will be economic for Ukraine. "We will never operate these bases, they practically aren't necessary to us", - Yanukovych told.
Thus he noted that all questions concerning the Black Sea fleet, have to be solved at a negotiating table, and decisions have to be made such which would be favorable both Ukraine, and the Russian Federation.
We will remind, Russia intends to suggest the Ukrainian party to discuss possibility of extension of terms of stay of the Black Sea fleet of the Russian Federation on base in Sevastopol after 2017. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov declared it in Moscow on a press - conferences.
At the moment Russia annually pays nearly 100 million dollars for opportunity to place the BSF in the Crimea. On June 23 the deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin declared that in exchange on lease contract extension by the Russian side conditions of placement of base can be reconsidered. As Karasin noted, these conditions can include, for example, rent increase. "Now the rent makes about 98 million dollars a year. Russia writes off this sum from a public debt of Ukraine. Such scheme of payment comes to the end in 2017. Clearly, we are ready structurally and to consider flexibly various conditions of further stay of the fleet in the territory of Ukraine, as much as possible considering thus interests of Ukraine in all areas", - the diplomat noted then.
