34% of citizens of Ukraine are ready to take on education in own family of children - orphans.
The minister of affairs of a family, youth and sports Yury Pavlenko reported about it, opening today the All-Ukrainian forum of adoptive parents.
He, in particular, reported that at the request of the President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko from November 3 to November 13 by request of State department on adoption and protection of the rights of the child Minsemyi research which testifies to essential changes in views of Ukrainians on the child protection sphere was conducted.
As Pavlenko noted, 34% of respondents which expressed readiness to consider possibility of adoption, are more than 2 million people. Pavlenko reminded that in 2006 this figure made only 19%.
Thus the minister noted that in Ukraine about 31 thousand children are subject to adoption.
Also Pavlenko reported that more than 50% of Ukrainians expressed readiness to support children - orphans, etc.
These and other results of research give Pavlenko's grounds to say that for 3 years of active work in this sphere it was succeeded to change system, and the main thing - the relation of citizens to a problem of adoption of children.
Pavlenko reported that only this year 6,5 thousand children from 35 thousand which were adopted for all years of independence were adopted. Also the minister noted that in the current year Ukraine came to result when daily adopt more children, than remains orphans.
