Rada forbade banks to lift up percent on the given-out credits

The Verkhovna Rada forbade commercial banks to make unilaterally decisions on increase in interest rates on earlier given out credits and on decrease in rates on earlier brought deposits.

239 deputies voted for acceptance as a whole the relevant bill 3343 (the author - the member of fraction of the "Our Ukraine — National Self-defense" Block Boris Tarasyuk) at necessary 226.

This document assumes modification of the law "About Banks and Bank Activity" and of the Civil code.

In particular, article 55 of the law "About Banks and Bank Activity" is supplemented with norm that banks are forbidden to change unilaterally conditions of the contracts signed with clients, in particular, to raise rates on the given-out credits and to reduce rates on the brought deposits.

According to the author of the bill, adoption of the document will allow to improve protection of the rights of clients of banks and will protect them from unreasonable increase of rates on the credits.

As it was reported, now at the conclusion of credit agreements banks, as a rule, reserve the right of revision unilaterally interest rates for the credits.
