Yesterday, on June 10 in Kirovograd meeting of Coordination council under the chairmanship of the President of Ukraine on preparation of actions dated to 75-oh anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 took place. Alexey Garkusha took part in work of meeting and the head Nikolayevskoy YEAH. About it reports a press - service of the Nikolaev regional state administration.

The president noted insufficient efforts both the separate ministries, and heads of regional and regional administrations concerning informing of the population on Big Hunger, the publication of the corresponding researches and attestations of eyewitnesses of those events, establishments of monuments, victims of the Holodomor and places of their burials, etc. the President urged heads of local administrations to cooperate with Institute of national memory which works over drawing up 17 regional and Kiev volumes of the Book of memory of victims of the Holodomor more actively.

Work of the Nikolaev regional state administration received a positive assessment.

In area on implementation of Decrees of the President of Ukraine "about actions in connection with 75-oh anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine" and "about the announcement in Ukraine of 2008 Year of memory of victims of the Holodomor" active events for preparation to 75-oh to anniversary of a terrible event are held.

556 research groups are created and work. As of June 6, 2008 in area it is revealed 15 671 victims of the Holodomor (including 10 690 - by results of processing of books of registration of death, 4 981 - on memoirs of eyewitnesses). It is revealed 40 786 persons which were injured owing to the Holodomor (including 2 008 persons who were repressed during the Holodomor of 1932-1933). Members of research groups collected certificates of 3 700 eyewitnesses of the Holodomor.

During processing of archival materials lists of points which were brought in "black boards" (46 settlements) are made of the state archives of the Nikolaev and Odessa areas.

347 settlements which suffered from the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and 128 settlements which disappeared are revealed.

In the state archive of the Nikolaev area 843 documents connected with Famine-Genocide, including 293 documents from the state archive of Odessa region are collected and processed.

In Nikolayevshchina books were published:

  • "Tragedy of century: Famine-Genocide of 1932-1933 in Nikolayevshchina" circulation;

  • "Hunger - genocide of 1932-1933 in Nikolayevshchina: views of historians, eyewitnesses, archival materials (to 70 - to the anniversary of the tragedy)";

  • "Nikolayevshchina in the contemporary history" (one of which sections shines the Holodomor tragedy in Nikolayevshchina).

  • "Nikolayevshchina in hungry 1921 - 1923, 1932 - 1933, 1946 - 1947".

  • 3 volumes of the book of memory "Rehabilitated by history. Nikolaev area".

By editorial board of the regional Book of memory of victims of golodomor of the XX Art. in Nikolayevshchina works concerning preparation of materials for their entering into regional volume of the National book of memory of victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 which after coordination with the Ukrainian institute of national memory will be sent to the press are fully complete.

At present in area it is established 341 memorable signs and a memorial board to Famine-Genocide victims. From them - 300 memorial boards which production the regional state administration provided.

In May, 2008 by results of regional competition which was held by management of town planning and architecture of the regional state administration in 2007, works on reconstruction of the Memorable sign to Famine-Genocide victims in Nikolaev and on arrangement of the nearby territory are complete.

In Nikolayevshchina 52 places of burial in 10 areas are revealed. All burials are arranged well, work on this question is continued.

In area live 63 460 citizens age 75 years are more senior.

For 2007 - 2008:

  • To 19 643 citizens who were injured from the Holodomor of 1932-1933, medical aid is provided;

  • To 18 231 citizens - it is provided financial support;

  • To 18 021 citizens - it is provided socially - consumer services;

  • - other types of the help are provided to 43 476 citizens.
