On June 10, 2008 I passed sectional training in the city of Pervomaisk of the Nikolaev area for city and regional local police inspectors on human trafficking counteraction. Training is provided by Lyubistok Fund together with management of civil safety of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area within the project "An exchange of experience in the sphere of the initiatives directed against human trafficking: policy and practice".
Problem of training was to increase awareness of participants concerning counteraction to the crimes, connected with human trafficking, to train local police inspectors for information work with the population. During training participants received information on how to reveal recruiters who are engaged in illegal activity in the territory of the area for the purpose of export of people abroad. Inspectors gained skills in identification of victims of human trafficking, an assessment of their psychological state and requirements. Participants examined the government, law-enforcement institutions and public organizations which work with this problem further to direct victims of human trafficking for receiving the necessary help by them - medical, legal and psychological.
Participants of training showed interest to a problem, raised level of knowledge in questions concerning, such phenomenon as human trafficking. In feedback defined human trafficking as rough human rights violation and expressed readiness for cooperation on human trafficking prevention.
