Gazprom submitted the claim to the Stockholm arbitration to oblige Ukraine to provide uninterrupted transit of gas to Europe. The prime minister reported about it - the minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at a meeting with foreign mass media.
It reminded that Gazprom and Ukraine in difficult conditions of the beginning of 2006 divided gas contracts for delivery directly to consumers of Ukraine and into power raw materials transit through its territory, the transit contract works till 2013 Besides, in April, 2007 addition to this document was signed with definition of a transit rate which works till 2010
V. Putin emphasized that the contract on transit gets under the Swedish right, and any related disputes have to be solved in the International Court of Justice. "Within this contract Gazprom submitted the claim to the Stockholm arbitration court and asks court to take in the shortest terms the interim measures forbidding to "Neftegaz of Ukraine" any actions directed on reduction of transit of the Russian gas to Europe", - V. Putin told.
Gazprom declared on January 3 intention to address in the Stockholm arbitration, but still didn't report that already directed the relevant documents.
As the prime minister of the Russian Federation, for Ukraine which has signed the relevant contract, "emphasized this court (Stockholm) not court". It reminded that the Economic court of Kiev forbade "Neftegaz of Ukraine" to carry out on January 5 transit of the Russian gas through the territory of the country. "If we so in a civilized way function further, about here in general any won't be", - V. Putin told.
