The parliamentary commission on investigation of activity of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) suggests to discharge the head of NBU Vladimir Stelmakh of performance of official duties.
It is provided by the draft of the resolution submitted by the parliamentary commission for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada.
As it is noted in the project, need of change of head of NBU is caused by situation deterioration in the currency market, "that bears threat of solvency of the Ukrainian enterprises and to further functioning of economy".
The parliamentary commission also suggests to address repeatedly to the president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko with the requirement urgently to bring idea of Vladimir Stelmakh's dismissal from a position of head of NBU and to submit for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada the candidate to a position of head of NBU. Besides, the parliamentary commission suggests the president of Ukraine to make a speech at meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on this matter.
The project also provides to increase the term of activity of the parliamentary commission on investigation of activity of NBU about six months.
The head of the commission is Yury Poluneev.
As it was reported, the Verkhovna Rada at the end of the past year heard preliminary results of work of the commission and recommended to the president to dismiss the head of National bank.
