The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is perplexed concerning estimates of the European Commission concerning crisis in the gas sphere.
As gave in Department information and the press the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was declared by the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Russia Alexander Grushko at a meeting with the chief representative of the Commission of EU in Moscow Marko Franco.
"During conversation the Deputy Russian Foreign Minister expressed bewilderment in connection with some estimates stated by the management of European Commission "on traces" crisis in the gas sphere which was caused by failure of performance by Ukraine of its transit obligations", - is spoken in the message.
On January 20 the president of European Commission José Manuel Barroso declared that Russia can't be considered as the reliable supplier of gas, and Ukraine - his reliable transitor.
"Gas which is delivered from Russia, isn't guaranteed, gas which is delivered through Ukraine, - not guaranteed", - Zh. Barroso told. "Also it is the objective fact", - the president of European Commission added. He noted that from this fact it is necessary to understand need for Europe to provide full diversification which has to provide diversification of the countries - suppliers, transit routes and energy resources which are used by the European Union.
Thus on January 20 the commissioner of the European Union for power Andris Pibalgs declared lack of the facts of unauthorized selection of gas Ukraine after December 31, 2008. According to him, after December 31, 2008 all volume of the gas declared by Russia coincided with the data registered on the Ukrainian party.
