The secretariat of the President predicts the average annual price of natural gas for Ukraine from 298 to 611 dollars for thousand CBM in 2010, depending on prices of oil in the world market. The first deputy head of the Secretariat Alexander Shlapak reported about it at a briefing.
By its calculations, in case of the average annual price of oil of 43 dollars for barrel gas price will make 298 dollars for thousand CBM, at the cost of oil of 50 dollars for barrel the price of gas is predicted at the level of 320 dollars for thousand CBM if oil is on 70 dollars for barrel - 386 dollars for thousand CBM, and in case of growth of the price of oil to 138 dollars for barrel gas price in 2010 will make 611 dollars for thousand CBM
In 2009, taking into account the same cost indexes of oil, the price of gas calculated on a formula, will make respectively 238, 256, 309 and 489 dollars for thousand CBM
The cost of transit which pays off on the formula attached to cost of the price of gas for Ukraine, can fluctuate in 2010 from 2,66 to 3,25 dollars for thousand CBM on 100 km of distance.
Shlapak reported that the National joint stock company "Neftegaz of Ukraine" provided the calculations of average annual gas price in 2009, and it makes 257,84 dollars for thousand CBM
In his opinion, the formula put in the contract, is primitive and doesn't provide a binding to the energy resources used in Ukraine. At the same time in a formula the binding to the Central European cost of gasoil which in Ukraine practically isn't used is put.
Shlapak gave an example of Germany where the formula of gas price provides a binding to the price of coal which is a resource alternative to gas in this country.
