The president Victor Yushchenko asks - the minister Yulia Timoshenko to take the prime minister effective measures on normalization of work of the Artek Center and to provide implementation of the decree about functioning and "Artek" development.
About it it is spoken in the letter of the president to the head of the government, reports press - service of the president.
In it Yushchenko states deep concern a situation which developed in the International children's center "Artek".
The president notes that his concern causes not only non-performance of the decree signed on November 27, 2007 about functioning and development of MDTs "Artek" which provided performance by the government of a number of the appropriate measures.
"Disturbs the social resonance caused by messages in mass media, in particular, of that the government of Ukraine pushes MDTs "Artek" to bankruptcy with the further purpose of sale of its property to private investors", - is spoken in Yushchenko's letter to Tymoshenko.
The president specifies that "such situation is inadmissible".
In this regard he appeals to the head of the government "to take effective measures concerning normalization of work of the Artek Center and to provide implementation of the mentioned decree in full".
"The prime minister - the minister has to report on the carried-out work personally on the head of state in week time", - is told Yushchenko's letter.
It is known that on January 22 director of the international children's center "Artek" Boris Novozhilov I went on hunger strike from - for a crisis situation in the center, caused by insufficient financing from the state, and suspicions that deliberately "bankrupt" "Artek".
On Monday, January 26, Novozhilov it was hospitalized with heart attack in the Kiev hospital "Feofaniya". According to the last information, doctors estimate its state as "average weight".
Meanwhile, a number of public figures, in particular and in Russia, spoke out in defense of "Artek". And the State Duma of the Russian Federation declared about intention to consider a question of providing the help to this center in connection with its financial difficulties. There is also an initiative to redeem "Artek" at Ukraine.
Today in this international children's center, well-known since the USSR, 10 camps. Its area - 208 hectares. Its infrastructure includes movie theaters, the pool, the modern educational center that allows camp to teach children for all year.
