The Ukrainian army doesn't suffice on doctrines

The Ministry of Defence intends to refuse participation in 13 of 23 international doctrines which were planned in 2009, from - for limited financing.

I reported a press about it - service of the Ministry of Defence.

"From - for limited financing we were compelled to reduce their (doctrines) quantity to 10", - the chief of the General Staff of Armed forces Sergey Kirichenko told during a meeting with the vice-chairman of the NATO Military committee Karl Eykenberri.

By data the press - services, is a question as of doctrines which it was planned to carry out in the territory of Ukraine, and about doctrines out of Ukraine.

Kirichenko added that carrying out voyenno - sea doctrines with attraction Ukrainian a frigate "Hetman Sagaydachny" and a corvette "Ternopol" also was planned, but in connection with limitation of the military budget it won't be possible to attract both ships to the international doctrines.

At this Kirichenko guaranteed participation in doctrines of one of these ships.

He also noted that depending on change in the state budget for 2009, regarding army financing, the General Staff will introduce amendments in carrying out military exercises.

Kirichenko emphasized that the General Staff carries out large volume of work to keep presence of the Ukrainian peacekeepers at military missions of NATO.

As it was reported, earlier the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from "Our Ukraine — National Self-defense" block fraction, the chairman of parliamentary committee on national security and defense Anatoly Gritsenko opposed cancellation of fighting military exercises in 2009.

Thus the deputy of Rada, the member of fraction of Party of Regions, the former Minister of Defence Alexander Kuzmuk supported cancellation of large-scale military exercises in the current year in connection with an economic crisis.
