Litvin wants to change the status of participants of fights in Afghanistan

The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vladimir LITVIN insists on that participants of operations in Afghanistan on the status were equated to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. He declared it in interview to journalists in Fastov to Kiev region during the celebrations devoted 20 - to the anniversary of removal of armies from Afghanistan.

"It is necessary to fulfill, first of all, the obligation to people, the help which is at extremely low level, - V. Litvin told. - I will address to the relevant committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet, and we have to make in common the decision".

The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted importance to preserve memory of events of twenty-year prescription, "low to bow to those people who didn't return from war, fulfilling the duty to the Homeland".

He considers necessary to recognize and encourage people who took part in operations in Afghanistan, and to provide them and their families the corresponding status.

Also, in his opinion, support to those who is engaged in business activity is necessary and supports public organizations of soldiers - internationalists. Besides, it is necessary to solve "a shouting problem" with housing for affected families, to provide soldiers - disabled people with motor transport, V. Litvin noted.
