The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the representative of public organization "National Self-defense" Oleg Novikov suggests to introduce obligatory declaring by officials not only the income, but also expenses.
"The law first of all is directed on becoming one of the first in fight against corruption. Because very often the government official who gets paid in some thousands of hryvnias, goes by the car worth several thousand dollars, wears extremely expensive watch and it, clearly, doesn't coincide at all with its income", - Novikova quotes a press - service "National self-defense".
According to the People's Deputy, declaring of expenses by officials of 1-4 categories, and also members of their families will help law enforcement agencies to catch bribe takers.
"It is world practice - the annual balance of the income and expenses of officials is always output. And it is the basis for tax authorities - if expenses exaggerate the income, to be interested in this or that citizen. This law will give opportunity to society and law enforcement agencies to check officials that those didn't take a bribe", - Novikov emphasized.
