In nasal part sunk in the Strait of Kerch in November of last year of the tanker "Volgoneft-139" leakage of oil products is recorded, the representative of Ecological watch across the North Caucasus reported RIA Novosti news agency.
"The loop from leakage of fuel oil from the sunk tanker in the Strait of Kerch, between Black and the Sea of Azov, made at present about 3 kilometers", - the interlocutor of agency told.
The storm became on November 11, 2007 the reason of unprecedented incidents in the Azov and Black seas: in one day four vessels sank, six ran aground, two tankers received damages.
From the broken Russian tanker "Volgoneft-139" in the sea about two thousand tons of fuel oil that led to an ecological disaster poured out. On the sunk bulk carriers there were about seven thousand tons of sulfur. In the Strait of Kerch fiftyfold excess of maximum permissible concentration of oil products in water was noted on November 13, there was a mass death of a bird and fish.
Nasal part "Volgoneft-139" tried to lift within a month after accident, however carrying out these works was complicated from - for a gale. After from nasal part of a vessel pumped out all fuel oil, its lifting postponed until spring of 2008.
The head a press - services of the ministry of transport of the Russian Federation Timur Hikmatov in April of the current year reported that "the main task was - not to allow spill of fuel oil from nasal part of the tanker. We coped with it. The shipowner (JSC Shipping Company Volgotanker) who, probably, and it won't lift has to carry out lifting of nasal part. Anyway this part of the tanker doesn't disturb navigation and doesn't create ecology threat".
