In the State Duma of Russia on Wednesday the eighth meeting of the Inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will take place.
"In itself this significant event as rather long time to us wasn't possible to gather in such format", - I told "Interfax" vice-the speaker of the State Duma, the cochairman of the Russian part of the commission Alexander Babakov (Just Russia fraction).
However, he noted, it doesn't mean that between the Russian and Ukrainian parliamentarians there were no contacts.
"However they had informal character and, certainly, demand the development", - Babakov emphasized.
He told that in the meeting agenda - a number of important questions, including of development of interregional and border cooperation of territorial subjects of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, improvement dogovorno - legal base of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and a number of others.
According to the vice-the speaker, in the conditions of a difficult economic situation renewal of such contacts "can become one of sources of recovery from the crisis which captured not only Russia and Ukraine".
As Babakov noted, at commission meeting the Russian and Ukrainian parliamentarians intend to declare the responsibility before the people of two states for cooperation development, that occurs in the relations between Moscow and Kiev.
"We intend and to continue from now on our consultations and we hope that they will promote improvement of the relations between our countries", - Babakov added.
From the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the delegation will be headed by the first vice-the speaker, the cochairman of the Ukrainian part of the Inter-parliamentary commission Alexander Lavrinovich.
