The Consumer Price Index (CPI) across Ukraine in March, 2009 made 101,4%. The rise in prices proceeded in all regions of the country: from 100,6% in the Chernigov area - to 102,4% - in Harkovshchina.
On the Nikolaev area, as well as on the average about the country, IPTs made 101,4%. The rise in prices is mainly caused by a rise in price of pharmaceutical production, household goods, household appliances, in the transport sphere, and also separate names of food.
Since the beginning of year across Ukraine IPTs made 105,9%, on area - 106,1%.
The consumer price index expresses relative change of the average level of the prices of group of goods and services (consumer basket) for a certain period.
The consumer price index is determined by a formula: (The cost of a consumer basket for this year to divide into the cost of a consumer basket for last year) to increase by 100%.
