The congress of the United States of America created the FLEX program to give opportunity to the people of Ukraine and the USA more to learn about each other. FLEX gives the chance to the Ukrainian school students to live and study free of charge in the USA within one academic year.
The program is completely financed by the U.S. Government and administered by the American Councils organization. The FLEX program exists for sixteen years, is carried out on an open competitive basis and is free for participants. This year testing will be held in 25 regional centers of Ukraine, since September 6.
All school students who meet the following requirements can take part in the competition FLEX:
Date of birth from 01.01.93 till 15.07.95
Study in 8, 9 or 10 class of school
Good knowledge of English
The contestant wasn't in the USA more than three months for the last five years
For school students who live in the city of Nikolaev and the Nikolaev area, testing will take place: On September 19, 2009 at 10.00 to the address: Admiralskaya St., 4 and Nikolaev regional institute of postdegree pedagogical education.
To participation in competition children with limited physical capacities which were born in the period from 15.03.1992 till 15.07.1995 also are invited. More than 250 such school students from CIS countries already studied in the USA according to this program.
Children with limited physical capacities need to warn about the participation the Kiev representation of "American Councils" for creation of appropriate test conditions.

For participation in the program 2010 - 2011 academic years will be selected about 300 finalists from Ukraine. To finalists of the program travel from their house to a place of stay in the USA and is paid back, and also the grant and the health insurance are provided.
Except Ukraine testing is held in the territory of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
