As reports ICTV, forestry specialists suggested to put a forest strip which will divide the Black Sea and the Dneprovsky estuary on the island. It has to protect coast from washing away as the sea every year eats one meter of land. And archeologists and ecologists don't agree with it. The island is included to the memorial estate "Olviya" and is rich with artifacts. And from - for new plantings they can be gone. Besides, on Berezani there is a bird's market largest in the country. Ecologists are convinced that trees will force out the feathery.
Ecologists claim that before any works on strengthening of the coast it is necessary to carry out the state environmental expertize at first. Now they have no data on island abrasion. Nevertheless, they are concerned by destiny of a big colony of birds. Every year here thousands the most rare open-hearth furnaces and eiders nest.
For historians 22 hectares of the island Berezan - the territory with archaeological value. Here in the VII century BC ancient Greeks lodged. Under thickness of the earth the remains of the Ancient Greek temple of Artemis, an instruction of other historical eras remained. Archeologists claim, what even 20 meters of a forest strip along the coast of the island will destroy many invaluable rarities underground.
